Springer Best Student Paper Award

The ECSQARU 2021 Springer Best Student Paper Award recognizes excellence in a paper presented at the ECSQARU 2021 Conference whose primary author is a student at the time of submission. In order to be eligible, the candidate must:

    ...
  • be the primary author of a paper accepted for presentation at ECSQARU 2021,
  • be a student (PhD, Master or Bachelor student) registered at an academic institution, and
  • present the paper at the conference.

The nominations came from reviewers from the Programme committe during the reviewing process. The award selection committee consisted of the ECSQARU 2021 Programme Committee Chairs and the members of the ECSQARU 2021 Organization Committee.

The winner is Floris Persiau (Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium) with a paper titled The Smallest Probability Interval a Sequence Is Random for: a Study for Six Types of Randomness, co-authored by Jasper De Bock and Gert de Cooman.

The student author of the best paper was awarded a prize of €1.000 sponsored by Springer.
